Building Muscle Fast really comes down to just 3 things

  • Eating Right
  • Lifting Weights
  • Getting Enough Rest

These are all vital to building muscle and without any of them you really will struggle in your endeavours of building muscle fast.

Below I will take a look at each of the 3 points and show you what you have to do to get them right.

1. Eating Right

Basically, the results you get out of your body depends on what you put into your body. If you give it crap, you will get crap results. But if you supply it with the necessary building blocks to really lose weight and build muscle, you will get some fantastic results. Think about it. What would your body prefer: some deep fried chicken and fries, or some grilled chicken breast, a baked potato and lots of vegetables?

So if your goal is building muslce fast, your diet should incorporate the following things:

  • Plenty Of Protein – these should be coming from a variety of sources such as lean cuts of meat, chicken and turkey breast, fish, low fat dairy products etc.
  • Carbohydrate – Carbohydrates give your body the energy it needs to complete your workouts and to repair and regrow the muscles. You should be getting them from sources such as whole grains, oats, brown rich and potatoes.
  • Fruits and Vegetables – these contain carbs as well, which will keep you full for longer and stop you having cravings for sweet, sugary foods. They are also packed with vitamins and nutrients that are vital for your body's well-being.
  • Healthy Fats – Fat is not the enemy, bad fats are. Your body still needs fat from good sources such as olives and olive oil, nuts, fish, vegetables, avocados, and coconut oil.

2. Lifting Weight

Lifting weights gives your muscles a reason to change and to grow. Without forcing this upon them, they are not required to work any harder than they are used to and see no needs to increase their size and strength.

If your goal is building muscle fast, you should be concentrating on compound exercises, that will work out the largest number of muscles in the shortest space of time. Because these compound exercises workout a variety of muscles, they are hard to do and require a lot of effort. This will naturally increase the levels of testosterone in your body, which will in turn allow you to add more muscle.

Compound exercises include: Deadlifts, Bench Presses, Squats, Pull-Ups, Push-Ups. Take the bench press for example. When performing this exercise you are using the chest muscles, the arm muscles, shoulders and the upper back to complete the exercise. This allows you to lift much more than if you were concentrating on just the arms for example. As mentioned before, when you lift heavy weights, you can build more muscle.

3. Get Plenty Of Rest

A lot of people don't quite get this one. How can building muscle fast happen by doing nothing? What you have to understand is that you do not grow muscles when you are working out. Quite the opposite actually. When you workout you tear and damage the muscle, leaving them in a state where they need to be repaired. In this state they have the opportunity to grow and to become stronger. The body decides that in order to avoid the muscles becoming damaged like this in the future, it will regrow them bigger and stronger, so they can cope with lifting weight better.

But they can only do this if you give them the chance. They need plenty of time to rest and recover. There is no set rule as to how long it takes to do this, but it normally is between 4 and 6 days. If you are unsure, listen to what your body is telling you. Do the muscles you worked out still hurt, even just slightly? That means they haven't finished repairing and growing, so do not work out that body part again until you no longer feel pain in them.
