Fat Burning Food: What Are The Best Fat Burning Foods?
Fat Burning Food
I'm sure that everybody knows that you have to eat the right kinds of food to keep fat levels low, but did you know that there are actually foods the can help to burn up fat naturally? There are a few ways these fat burning foods can achieve this, such as:
- Speeding up the metabolism
- Burning more calories in digestion than they contain
- Curbing the appetite
- Keeping you full and therefore not requiring more food
- Containing vitamins and minerals that aid in buring fat
So here are some fat burning foods
Oatmeal
Oatmeal is somewhat of a super-food. It is useful for building muscle, but also in burning fat. Oats are full of fibre, which will keep you regular, and also keep you full for longer, so you don't get cravings between meals.
Dairy Products (Fat Free)
These are high in calcium, which really helps to burn up fat. Calcium allows the energy you get from foods to be used up as body heat, therefore not being stored as fat. It may not be common knowledge, but calcium will help to burn fat as well as strengthening the bones.
Egg Whites
While the yolk of the egg has quite a high number of calories, the egg whites have virtually none. They are high in protein and have no fat or carbs, so are excellent for both building muscle and burning fat
Natural Nut Butters
Nut Butters such as peanut, cashew and almond butters are full of healthy fats that will both build muscle and burn up fat. But don't go overboard as they are quite high in calories.
Chicken and Turkey
My favourite muscle building food, but also a very good fat burning food, as they are high in protein and very low in fats.
Fruit
Did your mother tell you to get plenty of fruits when you were younger? You should have listened to her, because fruits are a source of carbs that are low in calories and high in fibre. They are also packed with vitamins so are perfect for fat burning.
Fish
Full of Omega-3 fats, that will amp up your metabolism. Try to get a variety of fish, such as tuna, sardines and salmon.
Lean Meats
It takes a lot of energy to digest meat, so your body will naturally increase the metabolic rate to deal with them.
Olive Oil
This is one of the “good fats” they you should be incorporating into your diet, as it helps reduce food cravings and helps the body to digest fats. The monounsaturated fats have also be proven to have many health benefits.
Green Tea
Green Tea is generally very good for you, but will also speed up the metabolism, which will help your body get rid of some unwanted fat.
Sweet Potato
Full of nutrients and fibre that will keep you full for longer, therefore reducing your intake of calories.
Whey Protein
Vital to any muscle building meal plan. They contain a type of protein that contains amino acids. Amino Acids are vital for building muscle and burning fat.
