What most people don’t realise is that if you regularly exercise and do weight training, you probably already have pretty good abdominal muscles. So why don’t you have six pack abs? Quite simply your abs are being covered and hidden by a layer of fat, that you must lose in order to see a good six pack. Some people are genetically gifted and have a very low overall body fat percentage. But for the majority of us, fat levels can be a real problem and is the area you must address if you really want to get six pack abs.
But if you are willing to put in the time and effort, you can get those six pack abs that you desire, and it is likely that you can get them within a few weeks, depending on the levels of body fat you currently.
How to get six pack abs fast, in 2 straightforward steps
Pretty much everyone that has six pack abs, has achieved them by following two simple steps. You don’t need to buy any of those ridiculous ab workout machines you see on the shopping channels and you don’t need to buy any wonder fat loss pills. This will not be easy to achieve, but it will be simple.
1. Lose Body Fat.
There is no way around it. If you want a great looking six pack, you have to lose fat around the stomach. To do this is quite simple (but required a lot of will power and dedication). You need to be eating less and eating better, as well as regularly doing cardiovascular exercise.
So your diet should be made up of proteins, vegetables, fruits, healthy fats and legumes as well as drinking a lot of water. Fast foods and ready made meals simply have to go, as they are full of salts, sugars, preservatives and other unwanted chemicals that make you put on fat.
As for your workouts, the best way to lose fat is with a form of circuit training that has you doing a mixture of weight training and cardio work at the same time, with very little rest in between.
Unfortunately for you, you can’t chose where to lose fat from. All you can do is lower your overall body fat and the body will decide where to take it from. The stomach is also normally one of the last places it chooses.
2. Strengthen the abdominal muscles.
I already said that you probably have good ab muscles if you workout with heavy weights regularly. But it never hurts to improve and build stronger and bigger ab muscles. Strong ab muscles are important to the core strength of your body and will allow you to lift heavier weights. The heavier weights you lift, the more you are going to lose fat and build muscle.
So crunches, hanging leg raises and bicycles are needed to build strong ab muscles.
